Carine Challandes Laughton, M.Ed, PHD, fellow AHE (UK), Micro-phenomenologist.   

 

Carine Laughton is a socially engaged theatre‑maker and performance researcher working across 22 countries in post‑war cities, townships, refugee centres and community hubs. Her practice is rooted in lived experience: co‑creating performance with communities whose stories, mythologies and everyday realities shape the work. Carine specialises in embodied and enactive approaches to creative practice, developing trauma‑informed frameworks such as LEAP and CANOPY that integrate artistic rigour with qualitative research in creative health.

Her projects have been supported by major cultural and humanitarian institutions including UNHCR, Pro Helvetia, ADAMI, World Vision, Save the Children, Théâtre de Verre, Mains d’Œuvre and the Trans Europe Halles network.

Carine is also a lecturer and course leader in the School of Creative Industries at the University of Newcastle, recognised with an Advance HE Fellowship (UK) for excellence in embodied, student‑centred pedagogy.
